In other countries, prices can vary widely, according to a study by Cable, a website that compares Internet services.
Internet On Pandemic How Much For Cost
Cable collects and analyzes data from 6,148 mobile data plans in 221 countries and territories. Data collection was carried out from December 8, 2020 to February 25, 2021.
After the data is collected, Cable calculates the average cost of a 1GB mobile data plan and ranks them based on those results.
It is known that Equatorial Guinea on the west coast of Central Africa is the country with the most expensive mobile internet contingent in the world. The price of mobile data comes to $49.67 per 1 GB.
While Israel is the country with the lowest mobile internet quota prices, the average is only $0.05 or around IDR 711 per GB.
How about Indonesia? According to Cable research, Indonesia ranks 12th as the country with the lowest internet prices in the world.
The average price Indonesians have to pay to buy a 1GB mobile internet allotment is $0.42.

The factors behind the cheap and expensive internet contingent
Dan Howdell, consumer telecommunications analyst for Cable, said a number of factors, including supporting infrastructure, affect a country's mobile Internet data costs.
Countries with low internet quota prices have excellent mobile and landline broadband infrastructure. ISPs can also offer large amounts of data, reducing GB costs.
In countries where data quotas are expensive, internet service infrastructure may not be very good and consumption may be low.
"People often buy data plans that are tens of megabytes, not even gigabytes, at a time. That makes the data that must be purchased more expensive," said Howdell.
"Many countries actually have good infrastructure and competitive wireless markets, and while their prices are not among the cheapest in the world, they are not necessarily considered expensive by consumers," he continued.
